Stress Management Through Hypnosis
No one can get
inner peace by pouncing on it.
-Harry Emerson Fosdick
Stress is a normal part of life. Some stress is good
stress and some stress is bad stress but it all
affects the body in the same way. Our bodies are
designed to handle some stress, but when stress
becomes excessive and a chronic state, that is when
people need to take action to reduce it.
Stressful situations create the "fight or flight"
response. When stress is unrelenting, the body's
immune system is eventually diminished.
Even though our conscious minds deal with reasoning
and logic, decisions, goal planning and other
conscious activity, the subconscious mind has the
greatest influence. It receives all of the social,
spiritual and genetic background... plus all the
daily disturbances that enter our consciousness.
Your brain interprets and translates complex changes
in your environment and body, and determines when to
turn on the emergency response.
Good stress happens when we perceive our resources
to be equal to or greater than the demand being made
on us, and bad stress happens when we perceive the
demand to be greater than our resources.
When the conscious mind can no longer handle
threatening stimuli, the subconscious prepares us
for fight or flight..... Our hearts pumps harder,
adrenaline races through our systems, blood pressure
rises, super strength can be generated.... We are
ready for a physical confrontation. But sometimes
there is nothing to fight. We can't physically fight
the environment or a job, an accident, a bad
decision and so on. So... now what?
Stress expresses itself in many ways such as:
perspiring, nausea or nervousness, palpitations,
agitation, hyper-activity, repetitive thoughts or
worry, chest pain, shallow or constricted breathing,
including shortness of breath, muscle tension and
headaches are often found. People under extreme
stress often complain of not being able to
concentrate or they have a poor memory. There is
nothing wrong with their concentration or memory,
just the underlying anxiety that causes them not to
think with logic and reason.
You can MANAGE your excessive stress through the use
of Hypnosis.
Hypnosis is valuable in stress disorders to resolve
the stress by working with the subconscious to
develop coping behaviors. After discovering and
analyzing the stress stimuli and the physical and/or
emotional responses, rapid change can be achieved
through hypnosis. In the hypnotic state, reframing
can create positive new responses to replace the
continuing devastating reactions to past events.
Deeply held emotions or hurt feeling can be released
and externally induced pressures can be relieved.
Hypnosis is utilized to significantly reduce stress
disorders through the use of relaxation, and using
visualization techniques to overcome exaggerated
fearful thought processes. Combined with personal
coaching, a state of the art technique for problem
resolution and personal development, a person can
get out of these stressful states, with the
assistance of well trained practitioners.
Armed with new and positive re-programming to old
disturbances, major positive changes in attitudes
and reactions realized; and a greatly improved
quality of life may be enjoyed.
