family history: M’Gan’s family comes from one of the ancient Caitian trader clans. These clans are outside of "normal" Caitian society. They were at one time seen as outsiders and were not trusted. (similar to gypsies of Europe) The Ryalthi clan has been merchant since before spaceflight. While an infant M’Gan and her parents were on the Caitian homeworld for her first naming ceremony, the rest of the clan was killed when Maquis raiders destroyed the family ship. Her parents finding themselves clanless, chose to go into service for the homeworld rather than apply to join another clan. They were assigned to the Embassy on Earth. They have only returned to Cait once, for M’Gan’s second naming ceremony when she was 15.
Personal History: M’Gan has only been on her homeworld
twice in her life, less than 6 months total time. Having grown up in the
diplomatic community of Earth, M’Gan had schoolmates and friends from many
different cultures and civilizations. Her quick temper which caused her
some trouble in her prep school days, has been mastered, and in fact it
is difficult to arouse her temper and nearly impossible to do so intentionally.
Control of her temper has not made M’Gan a pushover by any means. She has
plenty of ‘backbone’. M’Gan has a number of different hobbies, and like
her friends it’s an eclectic group. She enjoys mountain biking, hiking,
swimming and rock climbing. She also enjoys reading and academic study
into a variety of topics. She loves Earth music and arts, with the exception
of jazz. She also appreciates an occasional well planned practical joke.
M’Gan has an easygoing personality and makes friends
easily, People tend to like her or at least consider her to be non-threatening,
given her size and personality.
Some of her pesonal study topics have included: astronomy
(in addition to helm work), botany, biology (very brief), geology, history
and xenography.
medical record:
note: Caitians acheive emotional and intellectual maturity
at or before human norms, while physical and sexual maturity is not reached
until mid twenties.
education:
graduated Academy Institute school 40604.10
Stardate: 10912.10
Cadet M’Gan has made a good adjustment here at Academy
Prep. There was some concern about admitting her, given that a Caitian
would be so much smaller than the other students. M’Gan has in fact turned
this into a advantage she allows other cadets to make assumptions about
her abilities, then turns the tables. One of her suite mates was the first
victim of this technique. There is a great deal of hope that the punishment
tours both drew for fighting will teach them both a lesson. M’Gan, especially
needs to brush up on the idea of ‘an officer and a gentleman’.

Stardate: 40601.12
Cadet M’Gan has done well during her four years at Prep.
She has learned to curb her tendency to take advantage of her diminutive
size. I believe she will do well at the Academy. She has made a great deal
of progress in learning to control her temper, but mastery of it will most
likely be a lifelong undertaking.

graduated Starfleet Academy: 80631.12
returned from supplementary Cadet cruise: 80601.06
Stardate: 80600.1200
I would like to commend the actions of Ensign M’Gan on
this cadet cruise. She agreed to come along on a supplementary cadet cruise,
to help me out. She did a great job nursing the damaged Xerxes helm along,
regularly covering two and three shifts at a time when troubles occurred,
which they did, with alarming frequency. She also missed graduating with
her class, as we arrived about 20 hours too late.
First Assignment: USS Tesla
note: before reporting in to the Tesla, M'Gan contracted
Caitian redspot fever, due to the contagious nature of this infection she
spent an extended period of time in Sickbay at Starfleet in San Francisco.
During her recuperation period the Tesla was destroyed
Second Assignment: USS Melbourne-FCO
notes: due to a change in officers, M'Gan was switched
to Chief Science Officer. She served on the Melbourne until ist decommissioning,
at which time she was transferred to the newly Commissioned Yamato at her
new rank of Lt j.g.
Current Assignment: USS Yamato
