EDUCATION:- Harry Blade's early education was provided by the Public Education services of whatever planet his mother was working on. This early education was almost as much from the streets and alleys as from the classroom. Despite this, perhaps because of it, he has always shown a drive to improve himself. At the age of 18 he enlisted in Starfleet, and successfully applied to the Marine Corps. For the next decade he performed his duties wherever the Corps, and Starfleet, sent him. He qualified Sharpshooter and small arms instructor, and has maintained this status ever since.

Blade entered Officer Candidate School at the age of 29, after serving in the Corps for 11 years as an enlisted man. He has demonstrated an aptitude for both 'the little war' and 'public safety enforcement.' Almost always finishing in the top 15%, Blade proved himself to be a dedicated and determined student. His best marks were in those fields where his pre-academy experience was a boon. It was while at OCS that his interest in Wellington's campaigns against Napoleon was formed.

HOBBIES/INTERESTS:- Military History and Re-enactment, particularily the Terran Peninsula War. Specifically based on the 'Sharpe' series by Bernard Cornwell, which he was introduced to during his time at OCS.However, having no desire to simply be Richard Sharpe he has created a fictitious officer in the 2nd Light, KGL and has the computer create original scenarios.

PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE:

Harry Blade is a straightforward man who has a firm belief in his duty. Occasionally self conscious about his age when compared to other junior officers, he has a tendency to fall back on his experience (and vocabulary) as a senior NCO. This bluff openness however hides a calculating mind that can border on the ruthless side of determined when carrying out his orders. This does not mean that he would willingly endanger the lives of either civilians or his fellow serviceman, except in extreme and unusual circumstances.

BACKGROUND: Blade's mother was an itenerant worker, travelling the K'trall system for whatever work she could find, generally as a dancer/waitress in starport entertainment facilities. Her real last name was B'Layhd, but she changed it earlier in her career. Young Harry, who was named for those who helped at his birth, was often in the care of 'friends' while she was working. Upon reaching his majority, and possessing no great education, he met a retired Gunnery Sergeant by the name of Owen Munro who convinced him that the Corps was his ticket to the future. While he was in boot camp, his mother died after a brief illness. With no family now but the Corps, Harry has striven to rise as far as he can.

ADDITIONAL HISTORY AND NOTES:-

MEDICAL HISTORY:- Over the course of his career, Blade has sustained the expected small injuries involved in training and active duty. During his second tour he was wounded during Counter Insurgency operations. Recuperation involved the rebuilding of his right hand. In all other respects he is a fit and active K'trall. His blood type is T1 Positive and he has no known allergies.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:-
Slightly below average height for a K'trall, Blade has developed his heavier build to compensate. His jet black hair is cut short around his face but reaches the nape of his neck in back. He has skin of a golden brown hue, and his eyes are a green hazel. Off duty dress consists of a dark green ribbed sweater over khaki long sleeve shirt and drill trousers with jump boots. Unless, of course, he is on the holodeck where he can usually be found in the uniform of a Second Lieutenant, 2nd Light Infantry Battalion of the King's German Legion.

RACIAL NOTES:- The K'trall are descended from the same racial stock as the Vulcans and the Romulans, but they are a distant, offshoot civilisation, with a culture all their own, having hardly anything in common with their racial forbears save for their physical appearance. Although able to pass as either Romulan or Vulcan, they differ from both in behaviour. Unlike the Vulcan race, K'trall show emotions as readily as do Humans, but are not prone to anger as fast as the Romulans. First contact with the K'trall was in 2330. At that time they inhabited 4 additional planets apart from their homeworld of N'trahn. These are A'tray, L'ahdor, D'rahl and S'trayn. A treaty was signed which resulted in colonization rights to the sixth habitable world, now known as Artemis VI. Starbase 37 was constructed 5 years later and is stationed in orbit around Artemis VI.Its mission is as a diplomatic outpost and to
administer to the Federation colony and all shipping in the sector. Due to it's proximity to the neutral zone, a pair of light cruisers are usually assigned in addition to the usual complement of runabouts.
For much of their history, the K'trall had a monarchial form of government, but approximately ten years before the Federation made contact, a revolution occured that brought about a dictatorship. At the time of first contact,their economy was in a state of near total collapse, and their provisional government was having difficulty effecting the promised democratic reforms. They welcomed contact with the Federation, and were eager for economic aid and establishing trade. For the next 35 years relationships were peaceful.
In 2370, the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D was involved in a 'diplomatic action' that halted an attempted coup d'etat by Romulan backed elements of the population. Details of this mission are still restricted. Shortly after these events the K'trall began moving to a more diplomatic form of government under the interim control of General H'druhn, a hero of the revolution.
