NOTE: The maps are higher resolution in the GPS than what you see in Mapsource. On older GPSs, like the Vista, they may draw a bit slowly. On newer units, like the 60CS, they redraw nicely. More detail has more stuff to draw. Update History 12-3-07 Added springs on both the Homosassa and Chassahowitzka river maps. Slightly corrected some of the existing springs on the Chassahowitzka River map also. 11-26-07 Weeden Island: Changed the Kayak Trail from a bottom contour line to a ferry route (there is no kayak/canor trail element) 11-23-07 Added to the Chassahowitzka River Map. Some labeled springs need confirmation. 11-12-07 Added Boyd Hill Map Added Chassahowitzka River Map. This map is incomplete, but useful and covers the main river to the Gulf. It will eventually merge with the Homosassa River map. Updated the Weedon Island kayak trail 12-31-06 Updated the Withlacoochee River County Park Map - added trails 12-25-06 Added Weeden Island Map Added Alafia River State Park Map Added Boyd Hill Park Added Withlacoochee River County Park Map (this one is in its early stages) Added some roads to the Homosassa River Map and a little more waterway detail 1-2-05 Homosassa River: Finished filling in the missing waterways from the 1-1-05 effort. 1-1-05 Homosassa River: Filled in about one half of the missing waterways in the land mass between the two where the Gulf meets the big Homosassa to the Little Homosassa. 12-27-04 Added a large just South of Ozello on Homosassa river map. It's not complete, but worth posting. Also extended the water out in the Gulf a bit from the big Homosassa to the Little Homosassa. Some of the land mass between the two where the Gulf meets needs inland detail added. Removed the quarry roads on the East end of the Balm-Boyette map. This area is being filled with water and is not accessable. 7-5-04 Ft. Desoto Changes only Added trails in the East Beach area Added train near park headquarters Minor correction to dog park fence line Still need to add: Bike Trails Add a few trails near the Arrowhead Picnic area 5-22-04 Ft. Desoto Changes only Added trail markers to the trails in the Arrowhead Picnic area Added Dog Park and Dog Beach 5-17-04 Corrected some shelter/restroom labels on Ft. Desoto. Added a 4th zoom level to Ft. Desoto and Egmont Key. Added additional road in Arrowhead Picnic area Added some minor trails in the Arrowhead Picnic area nature trails 5-11-04 Added Ft. Desoto Park in southern Pinellas County. This may need a little revising after I visit a few of the trails. Also Corrected one trail that was left on level 0 and should have been on level 3 on the Curiosity Creek Preserve. 4-28-04 Released this map set I have decided to combine my maps into one set to reduce the number of registry changes that are needed. A nice side effict of this change is that adding additional maps to this set requite no additional registry changes, just copy the new files over the old ones. While this set contains many maps, each map is individually selectable so you only need to load the data that you want. This map set covers: Weeki Wachee Preserve Homosassa River Balm-Boyette Preserve Curiosity Creek Preserve Egmont Key Preserve Withlacoochee River County Park Alafia River State Park Weeden Island Park Boyd Hill Park Chassahowitzka River The water levels in the preserves may change by many feet, especially after a heavy rain. Standard Disclaimer... You and you alone are fully responsible for any changes made to your computer and/or GPS as a result of installing or using this software and/or map set. Although it works well for me and is really straight forward to get going, if you are not comfortable with the instructions below get help or do not do it. --------- Here's the steps to get it working ---------- (If you are updating your maps just drag the contents of "Fla Parks" into your "Fla Parks" folder and you'er done. Make sure that MapSource is closed first. ) Make sure that Mapsource is installed and not running. Open the wwp.reg file in a TEXT EDITOR and change the path to where your Mapsource.exe program is installed. (Right Mouse Click-->EDIT) The file comes to you looking like this: REGEDIT4 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Garmin\MapSource\Products\255] "Loc"="C:\\Program Files\\Garmin\\MapSource\\Fla Parks\\" "Bmap"="C:\\Program Files\\Garmin\\MapSource\\Fla Parks\\allens.img" "Tdb"="C:\\Program Files\\Garmin\\MapSource\\Fla Parks\\allens.tdb" So if your Mapsource program is installed in the 'D:\Maps\Garmin' dir, change it to this (remember to keep the double back slashes): REGEDIT4 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Garmin\MapSource\Products\255] "Loc"="D:\\Maps\\Garmin\\Fla Parks\\" "Bmap"="D:\\Maps\\Garmin\\Fla Parks\\allens.img" "Tdb"="D:\\Maps\\Garmin\\Fla Parks\\allens.tdb" Once that's finished save it, double click in it and the registry keys will be installed. Next, create a 'Fla Parks' directory that contains the MapSource.Exe program. Finally, copy the files ending with '.TDB' and '.img' to the 'Fla Parks' directory. Do NOT rename them. If you have already installed some of my maps as individually these will over wite them and both sets will work. You are ready to start Mapsource and "Allen's Maps" should be one of your map sets. If you start up Mapsource and get a Fatal Error don't panic. It's because the path in your registry file was not pointing at the map files. Edit the icsouth.reg file with the correct path and re-run it to correct the registry. NOTE: All of my map sets may be installed in the same directory without conflict. Enjoy! - Allen
