Storm Index (STI) is derived from my forecasted Lifted Index, Severe Index, Convection Index, and Dew Point.
An STI of 1 to 3 indicates conditions for storm development exist. STI > 3 indicates storms are likely. See Note

Updated: 23.09.2011 14:54NOTE: Moisture (Dew Point), Lift, and Atmospheric Instability are required for storm developement. Dew Points above 55F are usually required for storm developement. As DPs rise above 60F, severity is also likely to increase.
Forecasting is performed by WXSIM software using weather observations from my Davis VP2 weather station. Models are run at 6am, 11am, 3pm, and 6pm. Each model run updates the data displayed in this interactive graph at 635a, 1135a, 335p, and 635p.
