The Rivard’s Page

From New Zealand—Kauri Wood

This piece is over 3000 years old.  I’m pretty sure I lost the paperwork that came with it to the 2005 flood from Hurricane Dennis.  The finish on it consists of quite a few coats of CA (Superglue)

More Turnings

Okay it’s not much, but it was just a piece of scrap wood I couldn’t stand to throw away!

Not wanting to experiment my hollowing techniques on a nice piece of wood I went to Home Depot and bought a piece of Yellow Pine.  I cut it and glued two pieces together.  Didn’t turn out to bad!

I think I made three of these…  They are aromatic Red Cedar and Curly Maple.  Mom Kuhn has one, Teri, Bonnie’s sister, has one and the last one is here at home.

For some reason that I no longer remember I had extra rings from other projects.  Just for the heck of it I glued it up and this is what turned up! Cedar, Red Pin, Oak, Rosewood, and Curly Maple.  Oh and I tumbled the rocks!
