Achieving Wheelchair Equality/Lowcountry Wheelchair Sports (AWE) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization, founded to educate the public about the potential of wheelchair users and other persons with mobility impairments. We help wheelchair users and other mobility impaired people become productive citizens. We educate the public about the need for people with mobility problems to have an accessible environment, and we educate wheelchair users and persons with other mobility impairments in their potential for acheiving a better quality of life. AWE offers advocacy, peer support, counseling, and information and referral.
