Chili Dinner Fundraiser

Scout Duty Roster

Paraphrased from a broadcast e-mail from your Senior Patrol Leader…

The Chili Dinner is divided into 3 shifts:

Shift 1 (be there at 3:30 set-up, work from 4:00 to 5:00, stay after at least to 5:30)
     Eagle Patrol
     Dragon Patrol
     Cobra Patrol

Shift 2 (be there at 4:30, work from 5:00 to 6:00, stay after to 7:30 to clean up)
     Panther Patrol
     Venture Patrol
     Scorpion Patrol

Shift 3 (be there at 5:30, work from 6:00 to 7:00, stay after to 8:00 to clean up)
     Platypus Patrol
     Treefrog Patrol
     Raven Patrol

The half hour before and after a shift begins and ends is for an efficient shift turnover. Do not leave your duty station until you have turned over your job to another Scout.
Note: These are the minimal time slots for the Scouts; I encourage Scouts to be at the Chili Dinner for its entirety.

You should expect a phone call from your patrol leader as he assigns the following jobs for your shift:
     - bus boy (4 scouts per patrol)
     - dutch oven (2 scouts per patrol)
     - dessert worker (1 scout per patrol)
     - sign holder (1 scout per patrol)
     - beverage server (1 scout per patrol)
     - ticket taker (1 scout per patrol)
     - ticket sales (1 scout per patrol)
*All Scouts may be reassigned a new job at any time by the SPL, ASPL, or an adult leader*

Additionally, each patrol will need its own Chili Server at all times while your chili is being served.

Every Scout needs to:
     - be at the Chili Dinner at the appropriate time in Class A uniform
     - have an assigned job to do at the Chili Dinner (as specified by a patrol leader, ASPL, or SPL)

Every family (regardless of number of Scouts in family) needs to:
     - make one pot of your patrol's chili to be brought when the Scouts begin their shift (put names on the crock pots please)
     - make a dessert to be brought when the Scouts begin their shift
     - (optional) make cornbread to be brought when the Scouts begin their shift

Beverage procurement will be handled by Mr. Bryan and Mr. Drury.

Your patrol leaders will be contacting you in order to assign your specific jobs. I expect the patrol leaders to report back to me by 6pm Wednesday, February 18th, with a complete list of Scouts and their jobs.

Contact me, your SPL, at (256) 325-5022, if you do not understand how to assign the duties to your patrol and feel that you will not have the required information back to me by Wednesday, February 18th, at 6:00pm.
