Dear friends, It seems odd that I should send season's greetings so soon, but the holidays are just around the corner. We wish the best of the holidays for you and a safe hunting season.
Our October match seems to have suffered from coinciding with the opening of gun hunting. We had a treat when Barry Bruder (U S Army Ret) brought his wife, Delma (soon to be U S Army Ret) to visit. Delma served in Iraq and if I have the facts correct, was wounded there. She was returned to the States for recovery some months ago. She looked fit for duty when she visited. We're glad she's home and can resume spotting duty.
Our scores werent hurt bu the nice weather, either. Among the missing in action (out ambushing Bambi) was Ernest Smith so we had to make do with the remaining match director. Don Akridge and Jim Crow came to visit as did Ennis Lee. Ennis shoots any event he can attend.
Scores were these: Don Akridge T/C 22 U A S 40 (another one) with Jim spotting. Jim suffered a muscle strain and did not shoot. Ennis Lee entered Field Pistol with a Ruger Blackhawk in 45 ACP for 22 of 40. His re-entry with the S&W 357 also netted 22. Ennis' Ruger semi auto was entered in U A S and accounted for 29 targets. I entered Field Pistol with a Ruger Super Black in 44M. I had a good day collecting all 10 chickens and hung on for half of the remainder, finishing with 25. We stored the targets until Feb '07.
I scheduled Feb '07 through Sept '07 for next season, omitting the October match. I'll look for you in Feb '07. Shoot often and safely.
Ernest and Richard
