CardCaptor Sakura: Characters
*In order of appearance in the manga*
Kinomoto Sakura: Our adorable heroine. Sakura is a fourth grade girl with a bubbly personality. She's the type of girl that everyone wants to be around. She's very athletic, and quite intelligent. I'd have to say that her determination is her strongest quality. She also has a humongous crush on Yukito, her brother's best friend!
Kerberos/Kero: Kerberos is the creature of the seal that guards the Book of Clow. He's very small and looks like a teddy bear with wings. His enthusiasm and big mouth make up for his small stature though. At the beginning of our story, Kero meets Sakura when she opens the book. He explains to her that she must find the cards and put them back in the book. Technically, he tricked her into becoming the Cardcaptor. ^_^ His hobbies include eating and playing video games (typical guy).
Kinomoto Toya: Toya is Sakura's older brother, and is a sophomore in the High School right next to Sakura's school. He constantly cracks jokes at her, but he really cares about her. Toya is best friends with Yukito, Sakura's crush, which may be one of the reasons that Sakura is usually nice to Toya. ^_^ Toya has a very keen sixth sense, which gives him the ability to see ghosts and other unnatural beings. Toya, like Sakura, is very athletic, and loves to play soccer on his school's team. He also has a motorcycle, but he rarely rides it. He seriously suspects something is strange about that little yellow teddy bear that Sakura always carries around...
Kinomoto Fujitaka: Fujitaka is Sakura and Toya's father. He is an archeology professor. He's very kind, and good at just about anything. He married Nadeshiko when she was only sixteen years old! He has no recollection of his past, nor does he have any living relatives. He's not on good terms with Sakura's grandfather either.
Tsukishiro Yukito: Yukito is Toya's best friend and the object of Sakura's affection. Whenever Sakura sees him, she goes into "floaty mode." He's very friendly, and can do just about anything, pretty much like Fujitaka. Perhaps that's why Sakura likes him so much. He claims to live with his grandparents. He has an unnaturally enormous appetite, and can eat three or four times the amount of food that Toya can! He has a few secrets about him, including that little fact that he's Yue, the Judge.
Daidouji Tomoyo: Tomoyo is Sakura's best friend. Although she doesn;t have any magical powers, her kindness is probably worth a whole lot more. She's the one responsible for Sakura's outrageous costumes, and she always goes out of her way and into danger to get Sakura on camera. She's very wealthy, but she doesn't let her money get in the way of friendship. She seems to be of relation to Sakura, because her and Sakura's mothers are cousins. Tomoyo's special talent is her ability to sing. She has a beautiful voice, and has won many singing awards. Her talent helped Sakura out in "Mistress of the Clow."
Kinomoto Nadeshiko: Nadeshiko is Sakura's late mother. Yes, she's named after the Nadeshiko flower. She died at the early age of 27. She married Fujitaka when she was only 16! At the time, Nadeshiko was a fashion model in high school, and Fujitaka was a teacher at her school. She was always very frail and clumsy, but she was always kind and high-spirited. She always said that if she had a daughter that she would name her Sakura.
Daidouji Sonomi: Sonomi is Tomoyo's mother and Nadeshiko's cousin. She runs a very popular toy company. Sonomi cared about her cousin, and was very much against her little cousin's marriage at such a young age, especially to a nobody like Fujitaka. She cares about Sakura as well, seeing as she's the only daughter of her beloved cousin. On a side note, all of Sonomi's bodyguards are female. Pretty unusual if you ask me.
Syaoran Li: Li is Sakura's rival for capturing the Clow Cards. Li is from Hong Kong, and has moved to Japan in order to find the cards. Being the descendant of Clow Reed, he takes it upon himself to find all of the cards. He uses a device called a "derivator" to locate the cards. Li also has a humongous crush on Yuki, which puts makes him Sakura's rival for love as well! At first, Li is at ends with Sakura, but he evantually becomes friends with her. He now helps her to colect the cards using his wide array of Chinese magic spells.
Kero says that Li and Sakura are drawn to Yukito because of the magic that dwells within him. Li understands this, but is still confused as to whom he loves. In the end, it is Yue the Judge who helps him with his decision. We all know how this ends. Li comes to realise that he indeed loves Sakura. How sweet! ^_^
Mitsuki Kaho: Mitsuki-san becomes Sakura's substitute math teacher when the current math teacher is sick. Li suspects something is different about her, and he's right. Mitsuki-san has the ability to use magic. Her magic is under the symbol of the moon, which is why she uses the "Bell of the Moon." She uses this bell to break down the walls of the "Maze" card to allow Sakura to successfully capture it. When Sakura takes the final trial, Mitsuki-san gives Sakura the bell to increase her magic. This gives Sakura the ability to defeat Yue.
Mitsuki-san and Toya go way back. They used to be in love with each other back when she was a student-teacher at his high school. She has the ability to see ghosts just like him, as well as the ability to "predict" the future. She knew that she and Toya would meet again when he was in his Sophomore year. She broke his heart when she told him that she was going to be studying abroad. She said that she would have someone she loved when she returned, as would he. Toya is actually somewhat annoyed by this, because she is completely right.
Yue: Yue, the Judge, is the one responsible for testing the cardcaptor's abilities to become master of the cards. He has a very stoic atmosphere about him, but he really cares for his new master. He doesn't like his body though. He very much hates being stuck inside Yukito's body all the time. He claims that Yukito is a loser, and detests him. Yue can remember everything that happens to him while he is Yukito, but Yukito can't remember anything that happens when he becomes Yue.
His figure is that of an angel, with wings to match. His symbol is the moon, meaning that he must gain his power from an outside source. When Sakura passes the test to become the Mistress of the Clow, it is up to her to keep Yue supplied with magic. Since Sakura is still young, she does not have enough magic to sustain his existance, and he begins to disappear.
