You try your best to shut out the droid's prattling and head into the desert. What a find. This droid will be a big help on the farm. With his help, Uncle Owen might not even need you any more.

As you drive across the Jundland Wastes, you come across Ben Kenobi, a mad hermit with magic powers according to your friends.

"Hello, young Skywalker," he says.

"You know my name?"

"I know much about you. I knew your father. He was a pupil of mine."

"And I am See-Threepio, human-cyborg relations," the irritating droid begins. "Have you by any chance seen a troublesome Artoo unit wandering around? I do hope he hasn't met an untimely fate..."

"What was my father like?" you ask. "And why did he leave me with that freak, Owen?"

Ben invites you to come back to his home to talk more. "I have something for you as well. Something from your father."

You've always wanted to learn more about your father. With a prize like this droid Uncle Owen won't mind you being late, so you give Ben a ride back to his home.

"I was a Jedi Knight," Ben tells you along the way, "as was your father. I have always hoped that one day you would seek me out so that I could train you in the ways of the Jedi."

As you reach Ben's home, a high-pitch whine fills your ears. A Y-Wing starfighter touches down in front of you. This is too much! Twenty-one years of nothing, and now this is the second spaceship you've seen today.

See-Threepio rushes to the side of the Y-Wing and addresses the Artoo unit installed in the back. "Artoo Detoo, is that you? How did you get in this ship. I have a mind to never talk to you again for leaving me like that."

The cockpit opens and a familiar voice calls out to the droid. "Shut up and stow yourself in the cargo compartment if you want a ride back to the Rebel Base."

"Yes sir! Stowing sir!" See-Threepio disappears into the back of the Y-Wing.

The pilot addresses you. "Hey, nerf herder!"
