JOHN LENNON

1971 St. Regis Hotel & Hotel Syracuse, New York - See More> See More>

1974 WABX phone call - Phone interview with John Lennon by John Parenteau on September 27, 1974 (dated by reference to previous day's interview with the radio station CHUM), on WABX Detroit. Sourced from the DJ's 7.5" pre-fm open reel. Very good quality for a phone call. Lennon speaks about his pending deportation proceedings, the new Walls & Bridges album, and witnessing a Flying Saucer in New York. John nominates his 2 favorite Beatle tracks as "Come together" and "I am the Walrus". A great listen from a bygone era.

At Home Guitar and Piano Demos (2CD) HMC - Oh The Joy, John performing solo tracks on Guitar plus Piano; I can't wait to hear these! Review: Thanks so much for this. I've been a Lennon fan for years and finally I get to

Between The Lines (John's Complete Home Recordings 1975-1980) (9CD) - Review: This set has been a long time coming. Over 8 hours of John doing what he does best, singing and playing. Pineapple has 2 versions available, the DVD ROM version or the 9 disk set. Either way, whichever one you get - you'll enjoy this set tremendously! Some of the tracks I've heard but the majority are new because the Publisher took the time to place them in chronological order including demos, outtakes, unheard gems and various takes of songs. I absolutely love this set and highly recommend it.

Channeling the Center from Within IV (Experimenting in 5.1) - All tracks are from the 5.1 center channel mixes of Lennon's "Legend" DVD. A very exciting and unique listen from the labs of Two Boys Productions.
Stay tuned for more releases from this up and coming team of musical experts. Gotta have this one!

Come On, Listen To Me (HMC-004, Yellow Dog 2007)(2CD) - This set is one of 3 double disk sets that Yellow Dog along with "His Masters Choice" have recently released. Lennon fans will be delighted with these fresh tracks on this set and the other two. Here's some examples! The bulk of the killer tracks are from the "Whatever Gets you Through The Night" Sessions. In addition to it being a #1 hit, you'll love the alt takes and behind the scenes performances. Here's more: Going Down On Love (rehearsal), Old Dirt Road (rehearsal), What You Got (Alt Take), Bless You (Rehearsal With False Start), Scared (rehearsal), Surprise, Surprise-Sweet Bird Of Paradox (rehearsal) plus MORE-More-More.

Compositions - Comment from a fan: Excellent home recordings of some songs that eventually saw the light of day and some that didn't. Worth it alone for the bluesy reworking of "Help!". Complete versions of several songs that appeared on the "Lennon Anthology". This is a COMPLETE tape of 1970's demos in the BEST quality ever!

Double Fantasy Demos And Outtakes - Alternate takes from the "Double Fantasy" sessions. Excellent soundboard stereo. These tracks are close to the final versions without strings and multi-track vocals. Recommended to both hardcore collectors and casual fans alike. Great release!

Filming The Fantasies (The Double Fantasy Filming Sessions) - A VOXX classic! The "Double Fantasy" video filming sessions as recorded by a hidden microphone that presumable producer Jack Douglas planted. The idea was to get a live feel in the studio while rehearsing, jamming and composing. John hated the idea. The microphone remained but the video tape has never surfaced. Overall, very decent sound quality and a real treasure. Contains the rare and infamous
diary tape.
Pure - Raw John.

For The Other Half Of The Sky (2CD) - Continuing the Double Fantasy and Milk & Honey sessions.
Barrier has released another great double set!
It's all here, demos, alt takes & alternate mixes.

Free As A Bird (The Dakota Beatle Demos) - Another rarity from Pegboy, the Dakota Beatle demos in their best recorded quality ever. All tracks are from 1976-1980. Includes the never heard Threetle's song "Now And Then". Source is from tape but overall excellent.

From The Vaults (Hoppy)(9 DVD) - Review: This is the one Lennon dvd set that you plan your weekend around.

Imagine All The Outtakes (3CD) - 3 disks chocked full of Alternate takes and tracks  from the Imagine sessions. Includes Take 1 of "Imagine";  Along with other incredible songs from John's Golden period. Imagine that!

Imagine, Apple 2x1 Sided Rough Acetate - 18 superb Apple custom label acetates released by Unicorn Records. Many of the tracks will leave the listener demanding More! Rest assured, You can't go wrong here. Track #6 "Give Me Some Truth" is chilling and at the same time soothing. A solid title indeed for any Lennon fan. Thumbs Up!

It's Gonna Be Alright (HMC-002, Yellow Dog, 2007) (2CD) - This set is one of 3 double disk sets that Yellow Dog along with "His Masters Choice" have recently released. Includes some familiar tracks but also some rare gems; Julia (takes 1-3), Look at Me, Cry baby Cry (takes 1-4)
plus more. A real delightful disk.

Lennon Remembers (Life With The Lions) (Darthdisc)
(2CD) - Jan Wenner’s tapes from his famous interview with John Lennon and Yoko Ono at Allen Klein's office on December 8, 1970.  The lengthy interview was published in Wenner’s Rolling Stone Magazine in two installments in early 1971. Lennon later repudiated some of his more venomous statements in this interview and always decried the fact that Wenner published it in book form under the title “Lennon Remembers.” Fantastic. "The best of any of the Lennon interviews for it's length and raw content."

Lennon Remembers (The Working Class Hero) (Darthdisc)(2CD) - A continuation of Jan Wenner's stunning Rolling Stone interview with John and Yoko in 1971. Again, a very open and in-depth conversation with the couple as they move away from Beatle-dom and strive to forge an identity as a solo couple. This is as compelling an interview as Lennon's own life. Honest and down to earth. "Gimme Some Truth".

Life Is What Happens (Barrier) (2CD) - A reflective John during the Double Fantasy period of his life.
The story goes that John escaped the rigors of touring, contractual obligations and record company hassles by becoming a house husband - leaving Yoko to run the Lennon empire. These tracks encompass the last known Dakota Demos along with the hit song dedicated to Sean entitled "Beautiful Boy". Other tracks include: Knocking on Heavens Door,  Maggie May, Be Bop A Lula, Life Begins At 40, Serve Yourself and Grow Old With Me + More.

Lost Lennon Tapes (Cue Sheets) - Complete Cue Sheets from West-Wood One's Radio Series (1988-92)
Lost Lennon Tapes (22CD) - An Excellent Compilation from "Moptop". This 3 disk set compiles 22 cd's from the Walrus series into a neat and well organized package. All files are in MP3 Format but again as with previous releases from Moptop - Sound Quality Doesn't Suffer. Browsing for audio tracks couldn't be easier, each cd is listed in the navigation bar so it's just a matter of choosing which disk to play. Also, all tracks are listed on screen in alphabetical order for an easy point and click listening experience. (22 disks on 3 disks)

Mark Jones Video Collection Vol 10 - 2 Lennon documentary's.
"As with most of my DVDs this was transferred onto DVD using a standalone DVD recorder from my VHS tapes. This disc has a FUNCTIONAL menu but nothing fancy. My main concern when compiling this series was to capture my video collection on DVD with no loss in quality and to make them available in a format that was with no generational loss. So you get an EXACT copy of what I had on video with a menu that does the job." See More>

Out Of The Blue - One of the best Lennon outtake recordings that still stands the test of time. Condor Records initially released this title in late 1989 to a fanfare of overwhelming response. Contains an assortment of Lennon gems covering  John's first solo effort to his last lp. ("Plastic Ono Band", "Imagine", "Mind Games", "Walls And Bridges", and then "Double Fantasy")..The king is gone, but he's not forgotten.

Remember New York City (HMC-003, Yellow Dog 2007)(2CD) - This set is one of 3 double disk sets that Yellow Dog along with "His Masters Choice" have recently released. Lennon fans will delight with these fresh tracks on this set and the other two that are currently in stock. John's adopted home being New York is presented here in its musical entirety during Disk #1's New York City sessions. John's perfection is evident throughout the recording. Great tune.
As was with New York City, disk #2 features the Lennon classic "Remember" in its perfected best.

The Bootleg Zone Auction Tape (Re-mastered Edition) - Comment from BZ: Here is a real treat. Some people from Bootleg Zone got together to bid on an original tape of The Beatles at Shea Stadium. Unfortunately, we lost that bid but instead we were successful in bidding on this tape, presented here for the first time publicly. What we have here is a session tape of Cilla Black & Paul McCartney running through "Step Inside Love" under the direction of George Martin. The tape is unedited and unaltered. The sound is a little muffled The tape runs 24:48.
As a bonus there are three more interesting tracks. First is a tape with John playing guitar and singing with Yoko's daughter Kyoko. Second, a John Lennon demo tape featuring "God", "Yoko Ono Poem Game", "When A Boy Meets A Girl" and "Well, Well, Well". Third, there is a great sounding mix of the Beatles "Ain't She Sweet" (recorded in 1962 during the Tony Sheridan sessions) which has a much fuller and more contemporary sound than any version out there.
Comment from a fan: Just wonderful!

The John Lennon Anthology (3 DVD) - (D1 Bag Productions; D2, D3 All Green Productions) Promo videos, concert footage, TV appearances, interviews, documentary outtakes & home videos. Some footage fair quality but contains rare and unseen film from various sources.

PAUL McCARTNEY

1973 Hard Rock; Manchester, England -
Uncovered live recording! The sound quality is remarkably good for an audience recording of this time. The sound is quite clear, you can hear all instruments alike and also the band members talking to the audience. There are of course some minor imperfections but these can't diminish the great impression this recording makes. Recommended for all McCartney fans and a must-have for everyone interested in (early) Wings recordings. Here's what the taper had to say: "Wings recorded at the Hard Rock, Manchester, England 16th or 17th? May 1973. Can't remember which one I went to. It was 33 years ago! An early Wings concert. Recorded on an original Phillips cassette recorder with the supplied mic."

Backyard +(Plus) - This disk features James Paul McCartney out-takes. These selections are of superb quality. This disk also features the Everly Brothers demo's. All of which are excellent sounding. This disk also has numerous versions of Blackbird. They must have been recorded sometime in the late 80's. Even the 'Home Demo's' on this disk are clear and of great sound quality. If a fan of Paul's were to ask for a disk that featured him alone with an acoustic guitar, this is what I would recommended. Excellent choice!

Band on the Run (2CD) (Beatle Boots) QUAD MIX Disc 1: Features the front channel mixes...
Disc 2:
Features the rear channel mixes
.

Chaos and Creation in the Backyard (Complete outtakes)(12CD) - Paul McCartney's
Chronicles in the Backyard is the premiere set of Chaos related work. Includes promotional radio, studio tracks, interviews, live songs and other rarities not found elsewhere!  The master craftsman is still churning out the best music
possible after all these years. This is an excellent multi-disk set! Publisher: Nerd Productions.

Eggstractions (4CD) - Comment from a fan: One of the most overlooked aspects of Paul McCartney's career is his versatility. This is the man who could write and perform Helter Skelter, Honey Pie and Blackbird all on the same record. His ability to compose in literally any style has always been impressive in and of itself. Well said! This title represents the "Back To The Egg" album as re-mixed by an unknown publisher. Disks 1 & 2 are side channel remixes. Disks 3 & 4 are center channel remixes. Masterfully done! Every day's a Holly Day! (The Crickets and their Buddies) - Rare uncirculated recording from the mixing tape master of the "Buddy Holly Week" concert at the Hammersmith Odeon, London UK on September 14,  1979.
A rare occasion indeed! Not only did it feature The Crickets, Don Everly and Albert Lee paying homage to Buddy but it also featured Paul McCartney & Wings on stage. Received from an MPL insider - this is one concert you can't miss!
It's So Easy
- Paul and Linda McCartney & The Crickets, Bo Diddley - Paul McCartney, Denny Laine,
Don Everly & The Crickets, Rave On - Ensemble & The Crickets + 21 other tracks from this historic concert!

Get Off Me Arse! (2CD) - Excellent collection of performances by Paul in support of his Run Devil Run album. (1999). Includes the entire Cavern Club performance (12-14-99), entire performance on the Michael Parkinson Show (12-3-99), National Lottery Show (11-13-99), Later with Jools Holland (11-6-99), the PETA Gala in Hollywood (9-18-99), The Concert for Linda (4-10-99), his Rock n Roll Hall of Fame Induction (3-15-99), and the show Wetten Das (12-11-99). All soundboard recordings. Most amazing!

Get On The Live Things (1972-1974) (2CD) - An excellent release from Piccadilly Circus and one of Paul's most overlooked early concerts. A year had passed since The Beatles split but fans still wanted more. Catch Paul and Wings rock Germany's  Stadthalle Offenbach with an amazing set list. Disk #2 contains an array of various songs captured at a series of live performances thru-out Europe. (Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Holland...Concertgebouw The Hague, Holland...Cine Roma, Antwerp, Belgium...ATV Studios, London, UK...Odeon Cinema, London, UK.

Last Flight (2CD) - Paul and company performing at the Apollo theatre in Glasgow, Scotland December 17, 1979. Superb stereo sound and a fun set list. Comment from a fan: This cd is excellent; the sound quality is amazing for a bootleg but on the whole it's quite good. Macca is in fine form. If it never comes out officially, Last Flight will be considered a unique historic piece. I recommend this record very highly. Great sound - great show..

Live Madrid 2004 (2CD) - Captured live in Madrid, Italy - This is a very well put together audience recording from May 30, 2004. Includes over 30 tracks. Features classic Beatles tunes along with many Wings songs.
Paul is in top form this night and performs the prohibitively rare concert rendition of "Helter Skelter" on disk 2.

Looking For Changes - Recorded Live at The Ed Sullivan Theatre, New York, 10 December, 1992 - for the "Up Close" TV show. Excellent soundboard recording. Band includes: Paul McCartney, Linda McCartney, Hamish Stuart, Robbie McIntosh, Paul "Wix" Wickens, Blair Cunningham. Comment from a fan: Great live performance, along the same vein as MTV'S Unplugged series. Sound is clear, crisp and excellent. I really enjoy this cd, as will any Macca fan, whether obsessive or slight. Can't Buy Me Love is fantastic, as is the really fast fun version of Ringo's I Wanna Be Your Man. This disc rarely leaves my car.

"McCartney" (Brazil mono, Apple BTX 1011) - Paul's self titled lp on the heels of the Beatles breakup
presented here in brilliant Brazilian mono fashion.

Miss Him Miss Him Miss Him (8CD) - This 8 disk set reviews the "I buried Paul" mania of October, November 1969. It assembles vintage material that shows the madness as it unfolded, as well as some explanatory material from 70's re-broadcasts of the original shows and even includes new material from the 1990's. Incredible material! V1D1 V1D2 V2D1 V2D2 V3D1 V3D2 V4D1 V4D2...See More>

MoMac's Hidden Tracks (30CD) - The "McCartney Anthology" of unreleased demos, rehearsals, live tracks, sound-checks, promos and other rare recordings. This set has been put together in a very thorough, easy to listen to chronological track order. Unequaled in its content and sound quality; this is the best and most comprehensive Macca set available! Without a doubt, Paul is the most commercial of the solo Beatles. He has amassed a huge catalog of songs since the breakup and continues to write, tour and headline stadiums to this day. If you're searching for a set that showcases the immense talent and history of Paul. (MP3) See More examples of what's in store!

OoBu Joobu (17CD) (MP3 format) - Westwood One Radio, Broadcast During The Weekend Of May 27, 1995.
One of the best radio shows to emerge in the last 20 years! If this show was by any other artist beside a former Beatle it surely would have been forgotten. Not surprisingly, Paul definitely knew he had to live up to the hype. He does more than that, he shattered all expectations and well surpassed the critics remarks. Most of the tracks are one-of-a-kind rarities and seldom heard outtakes that'll make even the most ardent fan very pleased. See More>

Oh Mistake (Back to the Egg Outtakes) - Track 1 & 16: messages to Japanese fans; Tracks 2-15: "Back to the Egg" outtakes. Tracks 1 & 16 are the Official Radio Broadcasts of November 1980 concerning the Wings Japanese Tour of 1980 which was over before it began; (Marijuana bust) and Paul's apology for canceling the tour with his special song "Bluebird". In addition, some quality outtakes of the Back to the Egg album. Great stuff..

Paul Of Kintyre (2CD) - Great collection of tracks sourced from rare promo videos, electronic press kits,
Mono promo 45's, BBC interviews, raw tapes, rough mixes and various other sources from 1976 thru 2001. Over 40 stunning tracks from a master collection. You won't be disappointed!

Pizza And Fairy Tales (2CD) - Very enjoyable collection of outtakes & demos recorded in 1985. Nice songs with superb audio. This 2 disk set shows Paul leaning towards a new musical direction. Highlights are Christian Pop, Squid, Figure of Eight and Atlantic Ocean. The demos are one of a kind.

Ram (Mono) Plus 1971 Promo Brung To Ewe By - In May 1971, Apple released a promo lp "Brung To Ewe By" for Paul's new album "Ram". This promo lp contained 15 radio spot ads with Paul singing "Now Hear This Song Of Mine". A Mono lp version of "Ram" was also issued for promotional purposes only  - and was issued inside a standard commercial (stereo) cover.

Return To Pepperland - Paul's unreleased 1987 album that critics and fans alike have petitioned for years to have released commercially. After all the pleas, still, no release. I'm not sure why EMI turned a deaf ear on this jewel?
But, oh well. Tracks: 1. Lindiana, 2. I Love This House, 3. We Got Married, 4. Beautiful Night, 5. Loveliest Thing, 6. Squid, 7. Big Day, 8. This One, 9. Love Come Tumbling Down, 10. Christian Pop, 11. Atlantic Ocean, 12. Love Mix, 13. Return To Pepperland, 14. P.S. Love Me Do, 15. Same Love, 16. Don't Break The Promises..

Rock Show - (Transfer from Laserdisc) Paul McCartney and Wings concert film of their 1976 Wings Over America tour. The film premiered on November 26, 1980 at the Zigfield Theater in New York City. The performances were filmed from four separate concerts; May 25, 1976 in NY, June 10, 1976 in Seattle, June 22, 1976 in Los Angeles, and June 23, 1976 in Los Angeles. >Tracks 1-12: Ram (mono) >Tracks 13-27, Brung To  Ewe By".

Run Devil Devil (Interview Disk) - A promotional CD with a extensive interview with Paul, talking about the making of the "Run Devil Run" album, interviewed by Laura Gross. Very compelling.

Slices of Flaming Pie (2CD) - An amazing re-mixing of 1980's Flaming Pie. One of Paul's best loved and memorable albums. Crystal clear sound quality on 2 disks. 38 spectacular tracks. A++

Suitable for Framing - Excellent disk! Great version of 'Hi Hi Hi'!  The 'Back To The Egg' outtakes are really brilliant! 'Love Awake' acoustic version is impressive. Waterfalls (promo-version) is only available on this disk!

The Little Girl Tape - In July of 1967, two teenagers from the United States, convinced their parents to send them to Oxford for a summer course on Britain Today. The girls had other plans, however, and after spending one morning (maybe) in class, they headed for London and wound up on Paul's doorstep. One girl is burdened with pictures from her friends, what seem to be millions of gifts for the Beatles, and most importantly for us all these years later, a tape recorder. Comment from a fan: Read the terrific liner notes and decide for yourself whether you want this. Once you have it, set aside your pretensions and expectations, relax and don't tense up each time the microphone pings. It's a beautiful summer day in swinging '60s London...Although the sound is not that good - this is a nice recording, showcasing two Beatles in a relaxed frame of mind. I think you'll be absolutely charmed by what you hear. It's incredible that this tape survives.

The Little Girl Tape Vol 2 (Daughter of) Review: If you liked the Little Girl Tape... here's more. The main interview (track 1) is a visit to George by a young girl who had been diagnosed with a terminal disease, and -- the mechanics aren't known to us -- was invited for a visit, along with a friend. Based on some of the conversation topics, the tape seems to date to late 1977.

Track 2 sounds as if George followed the girls out to their car to bid them farewell, but our source insists that it was actually recorded on a return visit a year later, when the girl who was ill had apparently recovered, and stopped by to tell George she was still alive. Track 3 is an encounter with Paul, from the early 1980's. It is unknown whether the young lady who recorded it was either of those who visited George.

NOTE: This disc (not unlike "The Little Girl Tape") is truly for completists. The sound quality in the main interview is...decent but sometimes trying. It is, after all, a tape of a conversation that took place, apparently, during a lunch visit, with dishes and silver clanking away. The shorter interviews on tracks 2 and 3 were taped during encounters with George and Paul outdoors, with all the attendant traffic noise, etc. that you would expect.

Unplugged (Complete Version) - This stereo album contains the acoustic music from MTV's "Unplugged". Rrecorded at Limehouse Studios, Wembley, London, on January 25, 1991. Included here are 5 more tracks not available on the regular release; (The Intro, Mean Woman Blues, Matchbox, The Fool and Things We Said Today) As a bonus, the rare "I Lost My Little Girl" is included. This is the first song written by Paul  when he was 14. A few months before he would team up with The Quarrymen to skiffle his way around Liverpool and conquer the world. This is the first public performance in more than 30 years. Audio quality is A+

PM Unsurpassed Masters Vol 1 - Many of these tracks have NEVER before been released!
All tracks in excellent quality!  From the studio version of "The Mess" to the live 1973 tracks, it's a very enjoyable listen.

PM Unsurpassed Masters Vol 2 - See above - Hunt this and Vol 1 down! You won't regret it!

Unsurpassed Rudeness - Paul's home demos, recorded at Park Gate Studio, Sussex, England, August 1980.
The intent of these tracks was to resuscitate Paul's career and return him to the spotlight. Unfortunately, producer George Martin passed on the tracks and suggested he scrap them and write more. The outcome was this collection of 17 songs
that are very good in their own right. No noise reduction used Slight hiss is present.
Some examples are: Seems Like Old Times (Demo), Ballroom Dancing , Take It Away, Sweetest Little Show, Hear Me Lover, Give Us A Chord Roy,
The Unbelievable Experience, Stop-You Don't Know Where She Came From, The Pound Is Sinking, Wanderlust,
Ebony And Ivory, Hidden Track + More

Water Wings (3CD)The Watermelon Bay Sessions..."London Town" demos and outtakes from Sir Paul, Linda and Denny Laine. This 1977 three disk set includes many promo spots for the album in addition to a wonderful array of interesting songs. 69 tracks.

When It Rains, It Pours (2CD) - Quality soundboard and a great set of rehearsal disks of Wings material that later appeared on the "Tug of War" and "Pipes of Peace." albums. None of this material has appeared before with the exception of "Cut Across Shorty," from Vigotone's "Good Times Comin'." You can hear Paul teaching songs to the band, all the while yelling out the chords. The rehearsals are unique because the reading is very loose. All in all, a very interesting set. 30 tracks

Wings From The Wings (2CD) - This set was recorded at the L.A. Forum, Los Angeles, CA. on June 23, 1976. The last concert from the 1975, 1976 World tour. Great show, contains one complete show in very good sound quality for an audience tape from this era. (7 of 10) It's fun to compare this to the official "Live" release to see what songs match. Richard Cory is one for sure. (30 tracks)

Wings Over Switzerland (2CD) - A real must have for fans of early Wings material, this double disk set collects a lot of the less commonly available tracks performed at early Wings shows. The sound quality here is not as good as it is on other releases like Got Any Toothpicks? but is still quite listenable. As far as I know, this is the most complete live recording of early Wings available on CD. Hear early Wings live versions of songs like Smile Away, Blue Moon Of Kentucky, Seaside Woman, Mary Had A Little Lamb, Give Ireland Back To The Irish, The Mess and Soily not to mention unreleased tracks like Best Friend and 1882. Even the Wild Life material is fun to hear, like Mumbo and Bip Bop. So not the best sound quality, but I believe the most comprehensive collection out there of early Wings live material.

Xcel Energy Center; St. Paul, MN. Oct 26, 2005 (2CD) - High energy concert of Paul performing
some of his best songs during the US Tour.  Includes rare "Live" tracks; Fine Line, In Spite of all the danger,
For No One, Penny Lane, I've Got A Feeling, Get Back, Helter Skelter and Please Please Me + More!

Inner View by Jim Ladd - Very upfront interview of George as Broadcast on June 18, 1979 by Jim Ladd. Rumors have stated for years that this set was taped from AM radio in 1979. Newer sources now say that this broadcast was conducted on KMET FM. If you've ever wondered what the "quiet" Beatle had to say about music, The Beatles and other important issues surrounding "being an ex-Beatle", you've got to hear this Inner-view. Fantastic and intriguing!

Krishna Krishna Krishna (3CD) - On the heels of the 1970 breakup of the Beatles, George immersed himself with
outside interests such as his religious beliefs and making good music. This 3 disk set captures George and friends performing Live at the Providence Civic Centre, Providence Rhode Island December 11th 1974 and at the Cow Palace- San Francisco, California on November 6th 1974. Great set of songs and some really incredible musicians on hand.

Let It Down -
32-track disk of George's private recordings including demos and jams for and with Phil Spector in 1970. Excellent sound quality. Songs include; Run Of The Mill, The Art Of Dying, Beware of Darkness, Cosmic Empire, Let It Down, Bluebirds Over The Mountain and many more.

Pirate songs (Rarities 1971-1991) - These are all home, studio demos or outtake recordings. Includes the rare "Mo's Song". Stunning! Some of the best George tracks Vigotone has released.

Portrait - Nice addition for those who collect the Quiet Beatle's releases. HEN (Home Entertainment Network is a newcomer to the fabulous world of outtake recordings but this lone release is a welcomed sight. See More>

Shanghai Surprise In The Material World - One of the great solo beatlegs from George. First, you get the outtakes from Living In The Material World and then some extra songs from Shanghai Surprise. The reverse ending on When We Was Fab is also included. Track #12 (Shanghai Surprise) is the rare version from the white label, one sided UK Promotional 45 rpm (50-100 copies thought to have been manufactured) (no label, no catalog number).

Somewhere In England - The original version of a truly underrated LP from George. Great sound throughout and awesome bonus tracks from the Carl Perkins TV special. For those reviewing this album from the perspective of seeking rare George Harrison music - then you've come to the right place. This is a two-fold disk. First, is the alternate version of "Somewhere in England", the way George delivered it to Warner Brothers and was turned down. (Tracks 1-10) Second, are  performance tracks with legend Carl Perkins and others including Ringo, Eric Clapton and Dave Edmunds (Tracks 11-23);  25 tracks in all. Very nice set!

Songs for Patti (Definitive Edition) - Acetate recording of The Master Tape Version (listed below) de-clicked and pitch corrected. Review: If you're a Harrison fan, you may be familiar with this material from the widely-distributed, overly noise-reduced mess from "Strawberry". This title is sourced from the rare original cd release. It's an acetate of rough mixes from the "All Things Must Pass" sessions de-clicked and de-thumped. Once these nuances were taken care of, there was no need for noise reduction. So we have the music as it should have sounded all along but at the right playing speed. I think you'll agree.

Songs for Patti (Master Tape Version) - This is an acetate of early mixes & instrumental tracks from
All Things Must Pass. Many tracks contain count-ins and some tracks have been previously unreleased. A great compliment to a terrific triple album! The material that George didn't release continues to amaze.

Spot the Looney - Disk 1and 5...(3CD) - This is Not just any George set! Only Disk 1 and 5 are available just now but man oh man what a set. George was first brought into The Beatles because he could play a guitar. Throughout the years George became better and better and was soon in demand as a session player - guest starring on many lp's until his untimely passing.  This set will blow you away! Here's a small sample of WHO, WHAT, WHERE and WHEN:
The Remo Four -  In The First Place, Cream - Badge, Jack Bruce - Never Tell Your Mother She's Out Of Tune,
Rick Grech  - Exchange And Mart +   Spending All My Days, Ashton, Gardner and Dyke - I'm Your Spiritual Breadman, Derek and the Dominoes - Roll It Over, plus many more. Disk 5 contains demos and outs with Dylan and George solo.

The Art Of Dying (5CD) - A chronological mega-set of George's masterpiece All Things Must Pass in complete form. Silent Sea has raised the bar pretty high with this release but for any collector that's familiar with their past releases know that quality is definitely assured. Also, this set includes the 2 rare Harrison/Dylan demos in the best sound quality to date; "I'd have You Anytime", "Nowhere To Go." See More> See More>

The Hari Spector Show - One of the best "Strawberry" releases! Press release from the publisher:
All tracks presented here are heard for the very first time (2001). So know, before you've even heard a note, that what you're holding in your hands is an extreme rarity. All of the Hari-Spector session tracks are acoustic. The selection of songs reveals quite a lot about Hari and Spector's state of musical mind and taste at the time. Covering his friend Dylan's 'I'll Be Your Baby Tonight' must have been Harrison's choice, while songs like The Great Pretender' and 'You Better Move On' were almost certainly more Phil's favorites. The acetate-recordings preserved here were probably made at London's Abbey Road Studios on February 9, 1971. Playing on these recordings are George, Leon Russell (piano), Jim Gordon (drums), Carl Radle (bass) and Gary Wright (electric piano).

The Little Girl Tape -
In July of 1967, two teenagers from the United States, convinced their parents to send them to Oxford for a summer course on Britain Today.

The Making Of All Things Must Pass (3CD) - 3 disk set of the making of "All things Must Pass" complete!

The Video Collection 1974-1988 - 26 videos from the quiet Beatle in above average sound, video quality.
Disk features:
Ding Dong Ding Dong, Dark Horse, Hari's On Tour, This Song, Crackerbox Palace, True Love, SNL Medley Harrison with Paul Simon Here Comes The Sun - Homeward Bound...The Pirate Song, Blow Away, Faster, All Those Years Ago, Save The World, Johnny B. Goode, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Here Comes The Sun, With A Little Help From My Friends (Prince's Trust Concert) 5 & 6 Jun 1986... Got My Mind Set On You and several more.

Through Many Years - Featuring unreleased and rare performances of "the other two" Beatles. "Through Many Years" is a tribute to the talents of George and Ringo. The tracks included here have been taken from the finest sources available, including dubs made by the late Abbey Road studio engineer John Barrett. Includes "I Live For You", an unreleased Harrison composition that has previously appeared on other releases from an acetate source but this is the best sounding take from the Barrett dubs. Highlights of the CD are two rarities, "Deep Blue" and "Miss O Dell", which were released as the flipsides of  "Bangladesh" and "Give Me Love", respectively. Both songs have never been included in any album including the recently released Dark Horse Years 6-CD box set.

Video From The Material World (6 DVD) - A potpourri of George highlights contained on 6 dvd's.
The picture quality is poor at times but the amount of rare footage makes up for this. A must have for all George fans.

What is Life (The Lost Tapes) - See More>
Yokohama Japan 12/01/1991 (with Eric Clapton) (2CD) - Several renditions of this title are available. All are decent audience captures of George's historic 1st night of his last solo tour. In fact, he went on to perform and tour with the "Legends" and later with the Wilbury's. Though the sound quality is not perfect, it's still a great concert that features George's good buddy Eric Clapton on several tracks.  Note: Rare performances of "Fish On The Sand" and "Love Comes To Everyone". Fish was performed the first two nights and Love was only performed this night.
RINGO STARR

All Dried Up (3CD) -
Comment from a fan: I think the "All Dried Up" 3 disc set is great! There aren't too many Ringo beats out there and these discs offer many recordings from different time periods. The set has been compiled very nicely. How can any recording from Ringo be bad? High-Lights include:  Ringo with Keith Moon; from the LP "Two Sides of the Moon"; performing "Together", Ringo's anti-drug message (1972), Ringo performing John's "Goodnight Vienna", Outtake recording of "No No Song", Several 1976 Japanese radio commercials,  "Ringo" 1978 TV-special performances and many more treasures. Very nice indeed! Over 60 tracks!

Beaucoups Of Blues (The Acetate Version) - Ringo's contribution to Country music and what a wonderful album! These tracks were culled from the original acetate and include "count-ins" as well as some finely sung tunes to keep you tapping and singing along. Ringo stated, while in the Beatles he liked country music - well, he sure proves it here!

Beaucoups of Ringo (5 DVD) - More info when available

Can't Fight Lightning -
The original title of Ringo's withdrawn lp that would eventually become "Stop and Smell The Roses". Nice sound quality and a great issue by Pegboy. Early mixes and outtakes. Tracks 1-10; the abandoned lp, Tracks 11-20; outtakes- demos, Track 21; Canadian only release of "Wrack My Brain". Classic Ringo!

Lost And Found (The Memphis) - Ringo's unreleased 1987 album. This title includes one of Ringo's best solo recordings: Wish I Knew Now, with Bob Dylan. This is the first of a two-disk set. Disk 2 is "Lost and Found" Cloud 9 Rough Mixes Taken from the Mo Ostin Demo Tape by George. (Ringo disk only) All in all a worthwhile listen.

Rarities - Another nice collection of Ringo tunes spanning the late 80's and early 90's. Ringo covers an assortment of familiar songs in addition to obscure numbers. Several performances are of original songs penned by the ex-Beatle. Tom Petty, Joe Walsh, Jeff Lynne and other stars appear.

Ringo Again (2CD) - Disk 1=20 tracks; Subtitled: Ringo: The Alternate Album (1-7) Ringo: The Sessions (8 -20..Disk 2= 20 tracks; Subtitled: Ringo: The Sessions (1-14) Bonus Tracks (tracks 15 - 20)...Another excellent release by "Mainstream Records". This title focuses on Ringo's mixing sessions, alternate takes at Sunset Sound Studios in LA, California on July 24, 1973. ♫ If you like the lovable ex-mop top - then this is for you. ♫

Rough Mixes (6CD) - Rare and exhaustive material from Ringo's "Photograph" sessions. Batz Records has gone to a great deal of effort in compiling this amazing set. Sound quality is wonderful for the most part but does have several breaks of silence in between the tracks throughout to keep the continuity of the original recordings intact. If you can live with this slight annoyance - then this set is a winner.
