After the closing of the school in Germany , many Bauhaus teachers and students came to America . Over the years, Bauhaus ideology has had a profound effect on Bauhaus architecture. Bauhaus influences can be seen in almost every American city. Many buildings in cities such as New York and Chicago were designed by architects who had attended the School of Bauhaus.  Despite Bauhaus’s huge effect on American architecture, many Americans were not eager to accept Bauhaus ideology.
