Bay District Schools Target Grant Trainer: Alternative Assessment Trainer, conducted five, 12 hour training sessions in methods of alternative assessment. Approximately 150 teachers trained.
Bay District Schools February 1997 in-service workshop: "Paragraph Under Construction" A program to teach elementary students paragraph development. The training session included how to create graphic organizers and rubrics using Microsoft Word. Approximately 130 teachers trained.

Macromedia Fireworks, Dreamweaver and Flash: Taught student and staff development courses in the use of Macromedia programs. Use Dreamweaver to create and maintain school and persona web sites.
Television: Taught Pinnacle Studio as part of course that produced daily television show. Used Adobe Premier to produce video specials that are incorporated into the school television show.

Microsoft Office 97: At Hutchinson Beach Elementary, I created a developmentally targeted technology curriculum for all grades (1-5) based on Microsoft Office 97 and Microsoft Publisher 98. Specific academic activities have included using Power Point for book reports, using Word for basic writing activities and producing graphic organizers, Excel for organizing data and performing mathematical analysis, and Publisher for desktop publishing.
LAN and Networking: I was responsible for maintaining the school's Local Area Network that used Novell 4.11.
Windows 95 software and related hardware: I performed maintenance and repairs on Windows 95 platforms, including solving and correcting software problems and repairing component malfunctions.
Internet: I have been the Web Master for three schools, and am currently the Web Master for New Horizons Learning Center. I also maintain a personal web site.This experience has given me great insight on the educational potential of the Internet.
Demonstrations of Instructional Technology: I have produced several examples of using the Internet and Power Point for instructional purposes, including a multimedia presentation of the weather, using USA Today's and the Weather Channel's graphics, and the production of a children's story using Internet graphics and Power Point. I have used these examples to train other teachers on the various instructional uses of technology.
Weapons Systems Acquisition Manager for the U.S. Navy. Specific responsibilities included the Navy Program Manager for the acquisition of the MH-53E minesweeping helicopter. (1987-1991) As program manager I was responsible for managing budgetary and technical compliance to the U.S. Government and Sikorsky Aircraft development and production contract. The contract was approximately $500 million dollars. Other related programs included the development of improved engines for aircraft and the software and hardware development for an integrated navigation system based on the Global Positioning System.Other Experience:Other government business experiences included the development program for a full motion flight based simulator for the MH-53E helicopter and the management of aircraft maintenance departments of over three hundred people.

Naval Officer, 1974-1994, Career Highlights:
Acquisition Experience: I worked extensively in the Department of Defense acquisition system. There I managed the contract for the production of the Navy's mine sweeping helicopter, including the business and technical aspects of the program. In addition, I worked on a wide range of software and hardware procurements, which combined, helped me develop in-depth computer expertise and strong management skills.International Experience: While assigned to the staff of the admiral in charge of the Western Pacific Fleet, I worked with my foreign counterparts in the Japanese, Korean, Indonesian, Australian, Malaysian, Singaporian, Sri Lankian and Indian Navies. This experience gave me first hand knowledge and exposure to a wide diversity of different cultures and peoples. I personally feel that the insight that I gained in this work is one of the most valuable experiences of my life.
Aviation Experience: I flew a wide range of U.S. Navy helicopters and fixed wing aircraft. I was a flight instructor for two and a half years in the initial phase of the naval flight program, and in fleet squadrons was a standardization and flight safety instructor pilot.
Retired as a Commander, (O-5) with a Top-Secret security clearance.
