(not sure). Would like to find out where Leftwich possibly lived at
this time. if he donated land for cemetery or if the church was once
at a different location than where the church now stands and if
pictures are available of early church or Jack Leftwich. There were 9
Leftwich children: Littleberry, Fanny, Rebecca, Polly R., Catharine
G., Sarah Jane, Nancy, Finnetta B., and Martha Ann.
WILLIAMSON, ROBERTI am looking for info on my GGGrandfather, Robert Jefferson

are buried in the Lynchburg, Tennessee cemetary. My father JAMES
ROBERT MARTIN is also buried there. Any information on the families

Martin line is unknown.
WISEMAN, LIMBAUGH, SCIVALLYTrying to learn the burial place of my Civil War veteran ancestor,
John Scivally WISEMAN (1838-186?). He was the youngest of 3 children
born to Andrew Jackson WISEMAN and Rachel SCIVALLY. Married Susan
LIMBAUGH 9/15/1856 in Franklin Co. They lived near the convergence
of Franklin, Moore, & Lincoln Counties. According to Eugene
Wiseman's book, John was "a member of Co. E, 17th TN Inf. Reg. CSA,
died as a result of wounds received at the Battle of Chickamauga."
In 1860 the family is in Dist. 2 Lincoln Co.; in 1870 Susan is living
in Dist. 3 Franklin Co. with 5 children (Wilburn Thomas, Daniel
Robert, George William, Mary E., and Edney). By 1880 Susan had died,
the younger children were "farmed out"; her burial place is also
unknown.

BOLES,Boles, James "Thomas" married to Manerva. Lived in Lincoln County
out of Lynchburg...carpenter/farmer...both born 1822 TN...five
children, Travis S, William C, James "Jim" Thomas, Henry, Nancy.
Found on census 1850/1860/1870. Both seemed to disappear before 1880
census. Jim married Jane Williams in Lincoln Cty 8/5/1883. She died
leaving him with 2 children, then married Edna Ellen Pylant and had a
bunch of kids. She died about 1900 shortly after giving birth. He
moved to Texas with all kids except last three, Suzie b1896, Estella
b1897 and infant about 1900. Assume they died.
WINKLER, PARKSMy great-great-great-grandfather was Francis WINKLER, listed on
Franklin County Census in 1850. I believe the family lived near
Marble Hill. His son, John Logan WINKLER, married Margaret PARKS in
1860 in Grundy County, Tennessee. She probably is the Margaret Parks
shown in the household of James Parks in Grundy Co. in 1860.
According to the census, Francis was born about 1810 in Tennessee.
Who was his father? Who did Francis marry? His wife apparently
died 1846-1850. Are there WINKLER burials in Moore County? Francis
had several children: Marion b. ca. 1835, John Logan b. ca. 1838,
Margaret b. ca. 1840, Jane b. ca. 1842, Sarah Ann b. ca. 1844, James
b. ca. 1846. Marion, John Logan, and James moved to Texas by 1880.
Jane apparently married A. M. Timms or Tims. Sarah Ann probably is
the wife of Bill Simpson on the 1860 Census of Franklin County and
Margaret lived with them. Francis WINKLER must have died prior to
1860. Does anyone know?

1865 in Lincoln County. Other children of G. Washington Lewis include

POWERSLooking for information on the family of Giles POWERS, COMPANY D, First Tennessee, CSA, discussed in "Moore County in the Civil War" on this web site: Information is needed to determine if this Giles POWERS was a descendant (several generations removed) from the Giles POWERS who settled in the area around Marion County, SC by the 1750s. John POWERS, Sr., John POWERS, Jr., James POWERS, Darby POWERS, and Archibald POWERS are listed in the 1810 census for Marion District. Related POWERS families were in what is now Darlington Co., SC and Robeson Co., NC. John POWERS and family left Marion District in 1825 and settled in Henderson Co., TN. Reference History Of Tennessee, by Goodspeed, and Henderson Co. Census records (1830 - 1860). It is thought that other brothers and/or POWERS cousins and their families may have settled in other areas of West and Middle TN. I am searching for connections and any information will be appreciated.

CANTRELL, FRY, FRYEI am Dr. Richard Cantrell and I was raised in Albany, Georgia. I was born in 1954
and my father was James Howard Cantrell. He was born in March 1915 or 1916, probably
in Tennessee, his father was Marion CANTRELL. He supposedly was married to a Cherokee
Indian, last name FRYE or FRY. As both grandparents passed on prior to my birth and
my father spoke little of them except of his Indian heritage, I have little to go on.
I know that my Grandparents were married in Tennessee probably at the turn of the
century give or take ten years but I don't know the county or anything like that and
I know that the Cantrell's came to Tennessee from Georgia or South Carolina. Any help
would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
