Tribute to
Robert Parks

My great uncle, Robert Parks died on January 7, 1998 at the age of 88 years old. Robert was a fine man and I will surely miss him. Prayers go out to his wife, Thelma and to all his children and grandchildren. Robert helped me with the Parks information I have collected and was the person who drove my great grandfather, Roy H. Parkes, Sr. around on July 4 and 5th, 1924 in a Model T to collect the family histories from all the living relatives. Robert was buried on Saturday, January 10th in the Lynchburg (Masonic & Odd Fellow) Cemetery which is the same cemetery that his father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great great grandfather are buried. I was given the honor of being one of his pallbearers. Uncle Robert, thank you for all the stories, descriptions, and names you remembered and told me about. It was such a joy to talk to you and hear about all our family's history. May God bless you..
