About Madison Weather
The Madison Weather website is generated with custom software that collects weather data, updates web page templates, and transfers (using FTP) the pages to the web site. The site is updated on the hour and at 15, 30, and 45 minutes after the hour. The data for current conditions is collected from a backyard weather station located in the N.W. corner of Madison near the fire station on County Line Road. The original weather station, installed in November 2004, was a Lacrosse WS-2310TWC but was recently replaced with a Davis Wireless Vantage PRO2.
In addition to publishing the weather station observations here, they are uploaded to the Weather Underground. The Weather Underground maintains a historical archive for the observations which is available via their web site for the local area. Forecast data and other weather information presented on this site are collected from the National Weather Service and Weather Underground.
