I have registered with many sites in order to do a family Search, with NO luck.
This is my problem. My gg-grandfather { Oliver Hazard Perry} was {according to
his Death Certificate} born in Batesville, Arkansas in 1854. His parents were
supposed to be Andy Perry and Cynthia Gregory. But family members say that his
father was William J. Perry. Siblings of Oliver Hazard Perry include {but not
limited to} and Sara and possibly Edward J. Perry. I have searched all the
databases I have been able to find with no luck. I have been told that a lot of
info was lost because of fire that destroyed them. If you do have info on the
person in question? I do have some verified info I would be willing to share.
Any help will be appreciated Hope to be able to work together to fill any holes
on this family. Robert Perry

James TRIMBLE, son of Robert TRIMBLE and Hannah MOFFETT moved to Batesville
between 1816 and 1821. A surveyor, he helped lay out the town of Batesville. He
died 6 miles southwest on August 27, 1841. His wife, Elizabeth Wallace STEWART,
died there April 13, 1836. Their last five children appear to have been born in
AR, Independence, Van Buren and Izard Counties. There are many brothers and
sisters who moved from Bourbon and Livingston Cos., KY about that time, so
there are a number of them found in Independence Co. about this time. Interested
in information from other TRIMBLE, STEWART and GARNER seekers. I don't have
many children for lines other than my own, but I'm willing to pass along what I
have. All information welcomed with joy!

Alsobrook January 13, 2000
The census indexes have a William Rutledge there in the White River Township in
1860 (page 153) and in the Green Briar township in 1870 (page 097). Does anyone
know if that is William D Rutledge born in NC on January 17, 1806 and who
married Mary Howell about 1827 or 1828? Mary was born January 25, 1807 but I
don't know where. Sadly, I have no death dates or places for either. They had
the following children. David, Jane, Martha, John, George W, Nathan Franklin,
William Dean, and Mary. Most children (perhaps all) were born in Tennessee.
William Dean was born April 15, 1839 (TN) and may or may not have followed his
father on to Arkansas. The listings could be about him, I suppose. All I know
about this son is that he married a "Susie". What I do know is that
Nathan Franklin did follow his father to Arkansas. That's my great-great
grandfather and in 1860 he was in Independence County in the Big Bottom
Township. (which explains a lot about us descendants)
