Do you have any records on the McGahen family? John Robert McGahen was my grandfather, he died Jan 20th , 1934 in Patterson , Ark. I know my mom was born on what she called Hutichison Mt. in 1917. As all of them are dead now, I was trying to find out any info I could. My cousin was Herbert Hays, or Bill Hays, he is buried in a cemetery behind a church on the way to his farm, which I believe is on that same mt, but can find no one that knows any thing. Thank you. I am looking for any information on my ggrandmother and her family. They are listed in the 1880 census in Big Bottom, Independence Co., Arkansas. Her name is Mary Jane Brooks, which is listed in the census as Brooke. Her father is Joel S. Brooks and her mother is Nancy L. (Davis?). Mary Jane and her father Joel were born in Tennessee, but moved to Arkansas around 1872-1875. Joel died around 1883 and Nancy around 1881. Mary Jane married a man named John Williams and had a son, Arthur Victor in 1885 in White/Cleburne Co. John may or may not have been her first husband. He was killed around 1890 and she married a man named Philip Rushin and they lived in White or in Cleburne Co.
