What's New in FOX 1.2

Lyle Johnson

Introduction

The purpose of this document is to describe things that have changed for the FOX GUI Toolkit between versions 1.0 and 1.2 of that library. FOX version 1.0 was announced in February 2002, and development for FOX 1.2 began shortly after that. FOX version 1.2 was officially announced in May 2004, so this document covers over two years' worth of development efforts by Jeroen van der Zijp (the principal developer of FOX) and other contributors to FOX.

The primary audience for this document is C++ software developers who are already somewhat familiar with FOX-based applications programming. This document is not intended for new FOX developers, although they may get some useful information from it as well.

The author would like to extend special thanks to Jeroen van der Zijp and Sander Jansen, for their assistance in reviewing and offering corrections to this document.
