This site describes the user interface of Firefox and related applications from the perspective of theme developers. While potentially useful to others, this site is targeted at an audience of Firefox theme and extension developers.
For me, this site is a place to store information that I gather during Firefox theme development, for future reference. I don't want to spend two hours a month from now gathering the same information I just spent two hours gathering this morning, when I could just write it down now and look it up later. And if I'm going to write it down, I may as well make it useful to others, too, so ... here you go.
Although this site is called "Firefox Chrome Explorer", it actually includes information about other software titles in the Mozilla family of applications, in addition to Firefox. Firefox is simply (at this time) the flagship product in this software family, and the most immediately recognizable for the most people. That name was chosen here as best able to communicate what this site is about.
About Browser Compatibility
This site doesn't even pretend to offer cross-browser compatibility. I know, I know, but for now I'm choosing to prioritize adding content that's valuable to Firefox users over adding support for browsers other than Firefox.
