The U.S.S Fort Henry
is based in the Tampa Bay area (West Central Florida).
Most of our members live in Pinellas and Hillsborough Counties.
Other members live in adjacent counties and throughout the state
of Florida.
Several members of the U.S.S Fort Henry
provide presentation on a variety of Civil War subjects.
You can choose a specific topic or multiple topics, and various
display items.
Lew is the "commanding officer" of the
U.S.S. Fort Henry. He portrays Lieutenant Edward Y.
McCauley, the real commander of the ship for the first two years
while on duty off the west coast of Florida. He has
presented to such organizations as History Societies, Chamber of
Commerce, Rotary Club, as well as schools and various living
history events.
Lew's topics include general Civil War history,
Civil War U.S. Navy, Naval Officers, Ships, Tampa Bay area Civil
War history, Reenacting, and Civil War firsts.
Lew can provide first person impression (in
uniform) of McCauley. A variety of
display items can be presented. He have a display board 6-ft.
wide X 4-ft. high with photos and information and can bring
various nautical items, weapons (approved sites only).
