Grateful Live is a contemporary Christian band consisting of full-time and part-time professional musicians from the Huntsville, Alabama, area. Rick Jobe and Grateful Live have performed and participated in worship in churches throughout north Alabama. Influences of rock, pop, jazz, gospel, and traditional church music give Grateful Live a sound that appeals across generations and cultures and provides a meaningful listening and worship experience for all.
Guitarist, vocalist, and saxophonist Rick Jobe is a full time professional musician who has been a fixture in the Huntsville music scene for years. His band Rick Jobe and Tuxedo Junction performs at wedding receptions, corporate events, and private parties. His latest project, an acoustic and western swing band called Swing Nouveau, featuring four-time Tennessee fiddle champion and Nashville recording artist Jim Wood, is quickly growing in popularity and reputation. Rick has been a leader of contemporary worship at several Alabama churches, and has served as a consultant for other churches that are starting contemporary services. He is also pursuing a degree in religious studies at Athens State University. Rick has studied at Northwestern University, the Berklee School of Music, and the University of Alabama, and has studied privately with Columbia recording artist Bobby Hutcherson and with students of classical guitar master Andreas Segovia. He has appeared on stage with John Lee Hooker and Duane Allman, and toured with Columbia recording artist Vic Dana (Shangri-la, Red Roses for a Blue Lady). RAM Productions, a recording studio and production company owned by Rick, has produced music CDs and multimedia products for corporate, government, and private customers. One of RAM's largest productions was of the 170 voice Dynamic Praise Gospel Choir recorded in concert for Salt of the Earth Records. This recording features the voices of Grammy winners Veronica Petrucci and Mark and Joey Kibble of Take 6. Rick also spent over a decade in the retail world as an owner and operator of the Fret Shop in Huntsville.
