Booking
|
Tuxedo Junction generally plays as a five-piece band, configured to play jazz and classic rock. We can vary the number of musicians and the instrumentation to meet your requirements. Please call for details. Booking. The first step in the booking process is usually done by phone, although it is occasionally done through e-mail, carrier pigeons, or smoke signals. In this step, you tell Rick you would like to book the band on a certain date and time, and if we have no conflicts, your event goes on our calendar as "tentative." The status of your booking changes from "tentative" to "firm" when Rick receives a signed contract and a deposit from you. If another party wants to book us on that date, you will be given first right of refusal -- we will contact you and allow you to make a firm commitment for that date if you so desire. Contract. When you have tentatively agreed to book Rick Jobe and Tuxedo Junction, we will send you a contract. The contract will spell out specifics such as the time and place of the event, attire, number of musicians, pay, and any special instructions from you. You will be asked to sign and return the contract when you are ready to make a firm commitment. The contract protects you and the band. Payment. A deposit is required along with the signed contract in order to confirm your date. Payment of the balance is expected in advance or at the performance. The musicians in the band cannot be paid until you pay the band leader, and those musicians can be a rowdy bunch when they don't get paid on time. Freebies. In consideration of our fellow musicians, we do not generally play free engagements. We do make occasional exceptions in cases where all of the proceeds go to worthy causes. Tuxedo Junction has played benefits for the Huntsville Food Bank and for the St.Thomas Lobsterfest, which pays for medical missions to Central America. Please call for more information. We'd like to play for you! (256) 539-1489
