Selling Plates / Plate Collections
 

 

 


       

Greetings,

 

     Since I have established my web site, many people have enquired about the value of plates or the selling of groups of plates or collections.   (I.e.  A husband/father passes away and leaves a collection, a bunch of plates is found in an attic, etc…)    Many times I do not have a direct interest in a collection of plates, but the person is attempting to ascertain the plates value in an attempt to sell the item.       The Lord has blessed me immeasurably with faith, health and family and I do not feel that I need another source of income for myself, but there are at least two Christian organizations that could use the financial help.    With this said, I will put one of my gifts to work for you, with all the commissions used to benefit one of two primary Christian Organizations:

 

1)      Westminster Christian Academy (K-12th Grade), Building Fund.

2)      Bible Broadcasting Network.

 

 

Service Offered:

  

 Option 1:

       I will sell your plate(s) for you through the many avenues available to me for the highest price that I can obtain.    The commission charge of 20% will be deducted from the total purchase price of the plate(s).     The 20% (minus any direct marketing expenses), will be donated to one of the two charities above.    My time is not an expense, so only direct marketing fees will be deducted from the 20%.   If you would liked to explore this option, email me at the following link:  EMAIL(work)    

 

Option 2:

       I can offer you a cash price for you collection.   You would immediately get a cash settlement for your plates.   EMAIL(work)    

 

   To date, I have purchased about 10 collections of plates with no problems on my side or the seller’s side.

 

Benefits:  

 

Option 1:

      The initial benefit is that you will not be hunting around for potential plate value, but rather letting someone who has some expertise in this arena work for you!    You will be furthering the Kingdom of God and the Lord’s work on this earth  (i.e. storing your riches in heaven, not on the earth).     According to the Bible, the entire earth will be renewed (i.e. burnt up), at the end of the millennium reign of Christ, so no need worrying to much about that mint VA 11…, its going up in smoke anyway.     Since I will be literally be working not only for you, but also the Lord, I am inclined to get the highest possible price.

 

Option 2:

         With this option, you immediately get the cash and will not have to wait for the plates to sell.  Many people have opted for this option and this is fine with me. 

 

Details:

  

      The initial step is to contact me with a list/ description of what plates are available.   Contacting me by email is the best starting point.    The idea here is sell a reasonable collection of plates (i.e. under 1000 plates), and not to push through an entire registry worth of plates.                   EMAIL(home)     EMAIL(work)    

 

      If you have an idea of the minimum value you will want for a plate, then this will need to be disclosed.   (I could help with this value, if desired).  It is possible that the plates may go to an auction for sale and a minimum sale price may need to be set for a plate or set of plates.

 

      After contact has been made via email, it is likely that we will arrange to have the plates shipped to my home.    I will be selling and sending the plates from my home.   At a specified period (probably every 2 months or less), I will send you check and statement of the activity on your plates.   For higher value plates, I can furnish a sales receipt for the item.     How long it takes to sell the plates will generally depend on the amount of plates, the years and the condition.     We can discuss this further in the initial email contact.

 

       A simple contract will be established between us outlining what is described above, when the time is appropriate.  I will email you a copy of this simple contract after contact.

 

      A can provide personal references if desired.    I have been a license plate collector for about 30 years, a member of ALPCA and am currently employed as a Systems Engineer/Engineering Department Head.   I have 3 engineering degrees, including a masters in Systems Engineering.   I am a former USAF veteran and Eagle Scout.   My wife and children attend Midway Baptist Church in Limestone, AL (Pastor Jerome Hilliard).   I currently serve as an AWANA children’s youth leader, a Bible Study Teacher and an Upward Basketball Referee.
