First Trip with the Family

Kim and I took the Boyz up to Montesano State Park this weekend for an overnight stay in the Airstream.  A fun time was had by all!

They found the Suburban’s third seat comfortable for the ride.  Kim & mine’s ears also found the placement of the seat quite comfortable.  Plans are to leave the middle seat folded down to accommodate the Boyz’ TV & videos.

This was the final checkout run to make sure everything is in order for next week’s trip to Disneyworld.  Daniel accomplished the last system verification by insisting on a taking a shower Saturday morning.  There was no complaint from his mother as he had already discovered “leaves-of-three” bordering our campsite.

After making camp, everyone came to appreciate how rough living life in the woods can be.  A brief hunting expedition for the night’s meal scared up a mess of opossum meat.  I sure was glad I remembered the meat grinder.  At the dinner table, everyone agreed it tasted a lot like beef.  We stayed outside for while after the sun went down.

I remembered the sausage for this trip.  Our first family breakfast on Montesano Mountain was a big hit.  Having unscheduled fun, Daniel captured what he considered was Jared’s best side after deciding better pictures are possible if one’s thumb is not included.  Kim joined in the fun, and captured a neat shot of Daniel as seen from the outside through the window & screen.
