Cruising in Florida:

I've spent most of my time on the west coast of Florida with a few significant trips to Isla Mujeres, Mexico and Burmuda.  Regardless, there are excellent cruising guides including:

"Cruising Guide to Western Florida" by Claiborne Young

"Cruising Guide to Belize and Mexico's Caribbean Coast" by Freya Rauscher

In Florida, you're often best off to join a club that has reciprocity with the Florida clubs and call ahead for a dock spot.  The number of places to drop an anchor are getting harder to find now that counties and cities are calling just about everything a cash cow.
